In this blog, I am going to write about a robot I am trying to build piece by piece. I am going to call it "Cub".
Although this is the first version I am going to document and publish, It is not really the first one. This version is the 3rd recreation ( Cub 0.30 ) of a simple rover that I built to be able to control over the internet. I am probably going to redo lots of what I have done before because the project was abandoned for nearly a year, but that won't be the goal anymore. The goal for this version will be to add AI. I want this one to be able to explore and decide for itself, at least to some extent.
For now, it is going to be in the form of a rover, a truck, because basically It is the simplest form (I have also tried spider and snake forms which by the way are uncontrollably complex) but It might change at some point.
I will try to keep it as simple and as cheap as possible so that others can follow up if they wanted. I am going to use scraps and spare parts of toys, along with other parts. I will try to keep the dependencies to customized parts to a minimum, except for the software that I will be probably writing myself mostly, and probably some circuitry that I will try to keep very simple. I am also not a mechanical engineer so there might be mistakes and inaccuracies in some of the terms and phrases I am going to use.
